While the visuals and content of "Vital Journey/ Virtual Heart"
were designed by Beverly Reiser, the technology supporting
the installation was supplied by Vivid Group of Toronto Canada,
Vivid Groupâs gesture recognition technology is the key to their
video camera based, unencumbered virtual reality system. This
allows participants to view themselves on projection screens and
interact with the animations that surround their live onscreen
video image. It allows for full body interaction without having
to wear, touch or hold anything. You see yourself on the screen.
When you move the virtual world responds to your presence.
