The Laguna Honda Hospital Murals, 1990
These mural panels on the seventh floor of Laguna Honda Hospital are
from the mural cycle "The City's Music" depicting imagery of various
music played in San Francisco since the 19th century.

The above panel includes trombonist Turk Murphy, Janis Joplin, violinist
Sandy Poindexter and teenagers playing drums from my Mission sketchbook.

Mayor "Mission Jim" Rolph in a San Francisco Seals uniform and
riding boots and the Police Department Band all appeared together one Opening
Day at the start of a 1930s baseball season.
I have added rocker Sachiko, Tango and Spanish Fandango dancers, pipers
and a sitar.

Firemen croon behind an Irish fiddler, John Handy jams with Snakefinger,
Yehudi Menuin plays violin at a 19th-century Chinese wedding while Enrico
Caruso sings in front of the contemporary San Francisco Symphony Hall.
